Park Hee-soon praised his co-star Lee Byung-hun for his performance in the film 'No Choice'.
Recently, at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul, actor Park Hee-soon, who stars in the movie 'No Choice', shared his thoughts on working with Lee Byung-hun.
'No Choice' tells the story of Mansoo, played by Lee Byung-hun, who, after being abruptly laid off from a paper company where he worked for 25 years, seeks reemployment and makes the drastic decision of 'eliminating competitors'. Park Hee-soon plays the role of Choi Seon-chul, a successful team leader at the paper company.
Despite the restructuring winds blowing through the paper industry, Seon-chul firmly holds his position as the team leader of the 'problematic paper'. He gives Mansoo a hard time when he comes with his resume in desperation, yet he also feels sympathy and looks out for him. To Mansoo, Seon-chul is an object of envy and jealousy, seemingly having it all.
Park Hee-soon remarked, "I've been in about four projects with Byung-hun, but we rarely had scenes together. In 'The Age of Shadows', I had a special appearance, and in 'Squid Game', we didn't have any scenes together. During 'The Fortress', we had one or two scenes, but not much interaction." He continued, "This time, I mostly worked with Byung-hun, and it was fun," expressing his satisfaction with their collaboration.
In the film, Seon-chul and Mansoo share a drinking scene at Seon-chul's house, getting quite inebriated. Park Hee-soon shared, "While acting drunk, I did a lot of things that weren't in the script. Byung-hun later said, 'I've seen Hee-soon a lot, but I never imagined he could act like this,'" he laughed. He added, "Byung-hun naturally accepted whatever I did without any hesitation. It made me realize he's not an ordinary person; he's reached a certain level. We had fun improvising together during filming."
