Elle UK Apologizes for Controversial Photo of BLACKPINK's Rosé at Paris Fashion Week
Elle UK has issued an apology following a controversy involving BLACKPINK member Rosé, who was allegedly subjected to racial discrimination in a recent photo.

On October 2, Elle UK released a statement through its official channels, saying, "We sincerely apologize for the issue with the size of the recent Paris Fashion Week post, which resulted in Rosé being cropped out of the group photo." The magazine added, "There was no intention to offend anyone. The post has been removed, and Elle UK is committed to creating content that fully represents all of our readership."

Rosé attended the 'Saint Laurent 2026 Spring/Summer Women's Collection Show' in Paris on September 29 as a global ambassador. The event was graced by global celebrities such as Charli XCX, model Hailey Bieber, and actress-model Zoë Kravitz.

However, the controversy arose when Elle UK posted photos on social media where Rosé appeared to be cropped or blacked out, sparking allegations of racial discrimination.

Videos capturing the incident were shared online, showing Charli XCX turning away to converse only with Hailey Bieber and Zoë Kravitz, leaving Rosé awkwardly looking down at the ground.

As criticism mounted, Charli XCX released additional photos featuring Rosé.

Rosé has long been a global ambassador for Saint Laurent, earning the nickname 'Human Saint Laurent.' BLACKPINK, the group she belongs to, was invited to a state banquet at Buckingham Palace in November 2023, where they received the Order of the British Empire from the King. Additionally, Rosé gained worldwide recognition by winning the MTV Video Music Award for 'Song of the Year' with her collaboration with global pop star Bruno Mars on the track 'Apartment.'
