Actress Lee El Opens Up About Dropping Out of High School and Finding Her Passion for Acting

Actress Lee El recently revealed that she dropped out of high school.

On the October 24th episode of MBC's variety show 'Radio Star', episode 933, guests included Kim Mi-kyung, Jang So-yeon, Lee El, and Lim Soo-hyang.

During the show, Lee El shared her struggles during her teenage years, saying, "When I was young, everyone had dreams and aspirations, but I had none. I wasn't interested in studying or anything else. I just went to school because I was told to and came home when I was told to. Eventually, I wanted to quit school. I even ran away from home for a few days."

She continued, "I returned home in tears and told my parents, 'I can't go to school anymore. I'm sorry.' After a few days of consideration, they thankfully understood and allowed me to drop out."

Lee El recounted a moment with her father, saying, "We went to a local restaurant, and my dad poured me a glass of soju and said, 'You have to take responsibility for your own life.' Those words stuck with me. I went home and thought about it all night, and suddenly I wanted to go to an acting academy. I found a well-known acting school and attended classes diligently. My teacher sent me to work as an extra, and I was praised for my skills. That's when I found it fun, and I've been acting ever since."

Meanwhile, Lee El completed her high school education through a GED and later enrolled in the College of Arts at Sungkyunkwan University.
