Inside the Unconventional Marriage of Shoo and Lim Hyo-sung: A Summer Vacation in Japan

Shoo and Lim Hyo-sung reveal the reality of their 'separated couple' lifestyle.

On the 30th, the YouTube channel 'Human That's Shoo' released a video titled 'Shoo Family's Summer Vacation at My Sister's House in Japan (First Omatsuri Experience)'.

Shoo, who is known to be living separately from her husband Lim Hyo-sung, spent two weeks at her sister's house in Japan with their children during the summer break.

The combined family of nine, including Shoo's sister's family, enjoyed a trip near Mount Fuji. Shoo appeared awkward around her brother-in-law, and Lim Hyo-sung also showed an awkward relationship with his in-laws, drawing attention.

At a donburi restaurant, Shoo and Lim Hyo-sung bickered over using a kiosk. Unfamiliar with the machine, Shoo suggested paying separately with her card, but Lim Hyo-sung preferred to order all at once, saying, "Why are you paying, silly?"

Shoo confessed, "Yesterday at the outlet, my sister and brother-in-law fought, so things are tense. We're trying to be cautious." Lim Hyo-sung, calling his sister-in-law, who is 11 years older than Shoo, affectionately advised her, "You look better without makeup. Just come out casually."

Shoo and Lim Hyo-sung walked apart from each other. When the producer asked, "Why are you walking separately?" Lim Hyo-sung nonchalantly replied, "Isn't this how everyone lives?" Shoo expressed her disappointment, saying, "This is why I always feel forgotten."

When Shoo handed over the camera, Lim Hyo-sung reluctantly took over filming, despite their playful banter. He listened to his sister-in-law's complaints about her marital issues, admitting, "I'm drained from supporting her stress today," yet he smiled.

Preparing for the festival, Shoo was busy organizing yukatas for the children, while Lim Hyo-sung seemed detached, napping or eating instant noodles.

Shoo wanted her children to experience the Omatsuri festival she enjoyed in her childhood. Arriving at the festival first, she couldn't resist joining the Bon Odori dance, expressing her joy. Later, she regretted that her children missed it.

Lim Hyo-sung, puzzled by Shoo's impromptu dance, remarked, "I don't understand why she's doing that," causing Shoo to momentarily lose her enthusiasm.

Lim Hyo-sung walked ahead, while Shoo bought snacks for the children, widening the distance between them. Shoo lamented, "We never appear in the same shot. There's always a 10-meter gap." She also felt emotional when her twin daughters took photos without her, saying, "They don't even ask me to take pictures. It makes me tear up."

In the end, Shoo reflected, "It feels like going back in time. Seeing the kids, I realize how much time has passed." She added, "I don't know if Lim Hyo-sung enjoyed today, but it seemed like a joyful and beautiful day."

Fans flooded the YouTube comments with support, saying, "They seem like a real couple. It's admirable how they maintain their family," "I hope they reconnect and live happily," and "Lim Hyo-sung seems grumpy but caring."

Meanwhile, Shoo and Lim Hyo-sung, who married in 2010, have been living separately for four years. Lim Hyo-sung stated, "We live as a weekend couple because we haven't agreed on custody after divorce. We used to love each other, but not anymore," which sparked public interest.
