On the 13th, a press conference for the Netflix documentary series 'I Am a Survivor' was held at CGV I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The event featured producer Cho Sung-hyun, known for his work on 'I Am God', 'PD Notebook', 'DMZ The Wild', and 'Human Documentary Love'.
'I Am a Survivor' is the follow-up to the 2023 release 'I Am God'. The series, consisting of eight episodes, delves into four shocking incidents that shook South Korea and is set to premiere on the 15th.
During the event, Producer Cho expressed, "We have a group chat with former JMS members, and it brings me joy to hear that some left the group after watching 'I Am God'. I hope this continues. There are still people within the group, and while I don't know how much impact this will have, I urge them to leave."
He continued, "Reflecting on the past four years, I wondered what I gained. Seeing that half of the JMS followers have left is comforting. The fact that Jung Myung-seok, the cult leader, received a prison sentence is also reassuring. However, the most joyful news for me is that former members, who couldn't marry within JMS, have left, started families, and one member, Maple, is expecting a daughter in December."
Cho emphasized, "The most rewarding aspect is that those who were once inside have regained their daily happiness and are now bringing new life into the world. It's been a worthwhile endeavor, and above all, it's heartwarming."
Meanwhile, 'I Am a Survivor' will be available on the 15th.
