Girls' Generation member Yuri recently experienced a horseback riding mishap but managed to keep her spirits high.
On the 11th, Yuri's YouTube channel released a video titled 'Are You Okay? The Horse Was Surprised?! Jeju Horseback Riding.'
In the video, Yuri enjoyed the scenic views and weather of Jeju while horseback riding. However, a tense moment was captured when she experienced her first fall from the horse, causing concern among viewers.
Yuri shared that she began horseback riding because she was inspired by fellow celebrities like After School's Kahi, Jeon Hye-bin, and Hwang Shin-hye, who were already into the sport. She found it so enjoyable that she has been riding for 10 years.
Highlighting the benefits of horseback riding, Yuri mentioned, "It's great for those who dislike exercise or have disabilities. It's good for mental health and is very healing." She began her ride on a small Halla horse.
During practice, Yuri almost fell due to a lack of synchronization with the horse. After switching horses, she appeared more stable. As she rode through nature, she expressed her love for galloping on hills and began to speed up, overtaking her coach, which led to her fall, startling those around her.
After the fall, Yuri quickly got up, repeatedly assuring everyone she was fine. She explained, "It was my first fall. The horse misplaced its step, and I let go of the reins out of fear." She added, "I fell on my back and hit my head, but I'm okay. It was a soft fall, though it was scary at the moment."
In response to concerns, Yuri jokingly asked if she needed to buy 'falling rice cakes,' to which her coach explained the tradition of buying drinks after a fall, known as 'falling liquor,' among riders.
Walking back without the horse, Yuri mentioned overcoming trauma and rode with her coach's guidance. She was delighted to hear that the drone director captured her fall, prompting the production team to call her a 'broadcasting pro.'
Despite the scare, Yuri remained positive, saying, "Maybe something good will happen." Reflecting on the experience, she said, "I felt more connected with the horse and learned more about it. Enjoying Jeju's scenery and nature helped relieve stress."
Meanwhile, Yuri made headlines in 2020 for purchasing a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, for 12.8 billion won. In four years, its value increased by approximately 10 billion won, making her the owner of a building worth around 23 billion won.
