JTBC's 'Good Boy' Delivers a Knockout Finale with Record Ratings

JTBC's 'Good Boy' delivered a thrilling uppercut to an unjust world, culminating in a 'good' ending. The final episode achieved its highest ratings yet, with a nationwide viewership of 8.1% and 7.7% in the metropolitan area.

In the finale, Min Joo-young (played by Oh Jung-se) decided to dismantle the cartel he created in Inseong City. To eliminate high-ranking officials and the 'Goodvengers,' he orchestrated a large-scale toxic gas attack. In a world rife with unfairness, the only way to win was with a "perfect KO victory that no one could dispute." The special task force, including Yoon Dong-joo (Park Bo-gum), Ji Han-na (Kim So-hyun), Kim Jong-hyun (Lee Sang-yi), Go Man-sik (Heo Sung-tae), and Shin Jae-hong (Tae Won-seok), launched an all-out effort to save the people.

The final task was to capture Min Joo-young. The 'Goodvengers' relentlessly pursued him as he attempted to escape. They engaged in fierce battles with various criminal factions, including the Korean-Chinese gang boss Baek Seok-chun (Ahn Se-ho), Russian mafia Misha (Maxim), security team leader Jang, and Japanese Yakuza targeting Min Joo-young, ultimately subduing their adversaries. Yoon Dong-joo finally confronted Min Joo-young with a thrilling uppercut. As Min Joo-young, sensing the end, threw himself into the sea, Yoon Dong-joo unhesitatingly followed, declaring, "Korean officials should clean up Korea's trash," and handcuffed him underwater. Min Joo-young met his end when he was killed in prison by a guard acting on someone else's orders, mirroring what he had done to Yoon Dong-joo's boxing protégé, Lee Kyung-il (Lee Jung-ha).

The special team, hailed as "heroes who saved Inseong City at the cost of their lives," received medals and moved on to the next chapters of their lives. Yoon Dong-joo found peace in a simple life while undergoing treatment for punch-drunk syndrome, and he and the recovered Jung Mi-ja (Seo Jung-yeon) embraced each other as true mother and son. Yoon Dong-joo's partner, Ji Han-na, continued her mission in a police special forces uniform, participating in new operations. Kim Jong-hyun returned to fencing, competing in regional representative selections, while Go Man-sik celebrated a promotion and the news of a new addition to his family. Shin Jae-hong lived a proud life as a family man and police officer, singing the national anthem with his family. The 'Goodvengers' achieved an indisputable victory, perfectly embodying the phrase "We are the Champions" with their 'good' finale.
