ASTRO's JINJIN Exempted from Military Service Due to Health Issues

ASTRO's JINJIN has been exempted from military service.

On the 2nd, Fantagio, the agency representing ASTRO, announced on the group's official fan cafe, "We would like to inform you about JINJIN's military service status. JINJIN has been deemed unfit for military duty due to health issues related to an autoimmune disorder, as determined by a detailed physical examination by the Military Manpower Administration."

The statement continued, "While JINJIN can manage daily life without significant issues, he requires regular hospital visits for examinations and management. Therefore, it has been medically determined that he is unfit for the unique communal lifestyle required by military service, leading to his exemption."

The agency added, "We prioritize JINJIN's health above all and plan to continue his activities accordingly. We express our deep gratitude to the fans who always support us and ask for your continued interest in JINJIN's future endeavors."

In contrast, fellow ASTRO member and actor Cha Eun-woo has been accepted into the Army Band and is scheduled to enlist on July 28.

Born in 1996, JINJIN is the leader and main rapper of ASTRO. Recently, he has also ventured into musical theater, appearing in productions such as 'Dream High,' 'Winter Wanderer,' and 'Crash Landing on You.'
