K-Pop group KickFlip has made a comeback with encouragement from renowned artists J.Y. Park and Jukjae.
On the afternoon of the 26th, KickFlip held a media showcase at Yes24 Live Hall to celebrate the release of their second mini-album, 'Kick Out, Flip Now!'.
When asked about J.Y. Park's reaction to their comeback, member KJ shared, "He said he enjoyed our first album and encouraged us to do well with the second. He even suggested we have a meal together if time permits. He's really looking forward to it."
Kehoon added, "He praised Donghyun's voice and said all our members have strong fundamentals. He hopes we can showcase our unique color." Donghyun responded, "I think it's because the demo version featured my voice. It's an honor, and I'll work even harder."
Kehoon humorously suggested that J.Y. Park wear vinyl pants for his appearance at 'Waterbomb 2025', referencing the iconic pants from Park's music videos. He added, "PD-nim guides our direction. We walk the path, but he sets it."
Amaru shared his experience composing the track 'Complicated', saying, "I've written over 100 songs in a year, and 'Complicated' is one I'm particularly attached to. The members praised it, which made me very happy. I'm grateful to the senior who helped with the arrangement and to Jukjae for playing the guitar."
Reflecting on their double win at a music awards ceremony just 33 days after debut, Donghwa expressed gratitude to their fans, saying, "We owe our success to our fans' support. After wrapping up our activities, we talked about showing even better performances and moving forward." Kehoon added, "Finishing our first album made me confident that not giving up on my chosen path was the right decision."
Kehoon revealed their goal for this comeback, "We aim to win first place on a music show. If we achieve that, we want to present an a cappella stage."
Looking ahead to their performance at the 'Lollapalooza Festival' from July 31 to August 3, he said, "It's a stage with many artists, and we're preparing to match that level. We hope to share our music and stories with more people through this opportunity."
Donghwa added, "For the festival, we thought about what color would best represent KickFlip's summer, and we decided on mint. We hope to earn the titles 'Explosive Refreshing Energy' and 'K-Pop Stage Hotspot' through this performance."
Kehoon concluded, "Thanks to the efforts of our senior artists, we've gained this opportunity. We're doing our best to prepare so as not to disappoint anyone."
KickFlip's 'Kick Out, Flip Now!' marks their return just four months after their debut album. Featuring seven tracks, including the title song 'FREEZE', the album embodies their ambition to break the mold and shake up the scene. The members themselves participated in designing the album poster, adding personal significance. The title track 'FREEZE' is a 90s-inspired pop-punk dance song, composed by the youngest member Donghyun, with lyrics by Kehoon, Donghwa, and Minjae.
KickFlip's second mini-album 'Kick Out, Flip Now!' will be available on various music platforms from 6 PM on the 26th.
