Ryeoun fondly recalls the enjoyable filming experience of 'Weak Hero Class 2' with his fellow young actors.
Recently, at a café in Sogyeok-dong, Seoul, actor Ryeoun, who stars in the Netflix series 'Weak Hero Class 2', shared his experiences.
'Weak Hero Class 2' follows the story of Yeon Si-eun, played by Park Ji-hoon, a model student who transfers to Eunjang High School while dealing with trauma from failing to protect a friend. Determined not to lose another friend, he faces even greater violence. Ryeoun plays Park Hu-min, also known as 'Baku', the justice-driven leader of Eunjang High.
When asked about the atmosphere on set with fellow actors like Park Ji-hoon, Yoo Soo-bin, and Lee Jun-young, Ryeoun expressed, "It was really great. It felt like an actual boys' high school. We all liked each other and had a strong bond." He added, "Even when we weren't filming, we would visit the set to support each other. For instance, we filmed a group fight scene in Daejeon, and (Choi) Min-young came all the way from Seoul just to cheer us on." He also mentioned, "We were that excited and played a lot of pranks on each other."
When asked who led the group like a leader, he replied, "(Yoo) Soo-bin hyung." He continued, "Soo-bin hyung really sets the tone on set. He's like a leader in that sense."
Besides his own character Baku, Ryeoun's favorite character is Geum Sung-jae, played by Lee Jun-young. Geum Sung-jae is a mysterious character who appears to be closest to Na Baek-jin, the head of the delinquent alliance, and manages the delinquents from various schools.
Ryeoun commented, "Geum Sung-jae has traits that are like a dream for men. Jun-young hyung portrayed him well. In Korea, only Lee Jun-young could play Geum Sung-jae. His romantic and free-spirited demeanor was sexy and cool."
Regarding the 'rumor' that Lee Jun-young's punches make a wind sound, Ryeoun laughed and confirmed, "They really do." He added, "Jun-young hyung has been practicing MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) for a long time, so his punches are so fast you can't even see them. I'm glad I didn't have any action scenes with him."
When asked if he is strong in real life, Ryeoun replied, "I'm not weak," eliciting laughter. He continued, "I was good at arm wrestling in high school. I had a high win rate. Unless there was a significant size difference, I won most of the time," he boasted.
About Park Ji-hoon, who plays Yeon Si-eun, Ryeoun said, "It was my first time acting with him. He's a fun friend before the camera rolls, but once it starts, his eyes change dramatically. I thought he was amazing." He added, "I tried to build more rapport with him. When acting together, Ji-hoon gives off something that makes me focus more. I received a lot of energy from him."
