Noh Yoon-seo, a graduate of Ewha Womans University's Western Studies department, has been awarded the Best New Actress award at the prestigious Baeksang Arts Awards.
On May 5th, at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci, Noh Yoon-seo received the Best New Actress award in the film category for her role in 'The Silent Sea.' This marks her second Baeksang trophy, following her win in the TV category for 'Crash Course in Romance' at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in 2023.
In 'The Silent Sea,' Noh portrayed the character of Summer, capturing the vibrant and fresh essence of youth experiencing growing pains.
Upon receiving the award, Noh Yoon-seo added significance to the moment by greeting the audience in sign language, as she did in the film. She expressed, "This was the first time I met the audience for an extended period during stage greetings. When they held our hands and said, 'Thank you for making such a film,' I felt a surge of emotions," adding, "It was a moment that made me reflect on the direction and mindset I should have in my work."
She continued, "I believe that conveying emotions transcends language forms, and I'm grateful to the sign language instructors who helped me acquire this wonderful language. Many people worked hard to bring this film to the world, and I had a truly happy experience. I gain strength from all of you who love me, and I sincerely thank you."
Noh Yoon-seo has been gaining attention as a fresh new talent, showcasing her presence in various projects such as the drama 'Our Blues,' 'Crash Course in Romance,' and the Netflix film '20th Century Girl.'
She is set to star in the upcoming Netflix series 'Donggung' (working title), where she will take on the role of Saenggang, a court lady with the ability to hear the voices of ghosts, marking a new transformation in her career.
