Singer Sean has fulfilled his dream by completing and opening the world's first ALS hospital. The opening ceremony was graced by his fellow celebrities, including actors Park Bo-gum, Yoon Se-ah, and Jin Sun-kyu.
A video titled 'A Special Date with the Most Beloved Hye-young' was uploaded on 'With Sean.' In the video, Sean attended the opening ceremony of the ALS nursing hospital with his wife, Jung Hye-young.
In the video, Sean, alongside the late basketball player and co-representative Park Seung-il, revealed that they had raised 23.9 billion won over 15 years for the ALS nursing hospital.
Standing in front of the donor nameplate in the hospital lobby, Sean expressed gratitude, saying, "In 2014, during the Ice Bucket Challenge, Hye-young said she would support me and donated 100 million won." Sean himself donated 600 million won. Pointing to the nameplate, he added, "You can see G-Dragon also donated 100 million won."
Sean smiled as he shared, "Thanks to many people who continued the thread of hope, this hospital was built. In addition to this, about 350,000 people donated through campaigns and purchasing donation products." His wife, Jung Hye-young, warmly encouraged him, saying, "You did well."
During the ceremony, Sean shared the story of opening the hospital in memory of Park Seung-il, who passed away from ALS, moving the attendees. Actors Jin Sun-kyu and Yoon Se-ah were visibly moved to tears. During a hospital tour, Yoon Se-ah encouraged Sean, saying, "You're the best."
The Seung-il Hope Nursing Hospital, built by Sean, is located in Mohyeon-eup, Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province. It is the world's first specialized ALS hospital, providing 76 beds for patients with ALS and other severe muscular rare diseases. The hospital was completed with an investment of 23.9 billion won.
