The movie 'Owl' (director Taejin Ahn) starts simultaneous VOD service on IPTV and theaters.
According to distributor NEW on the 17th, 'Owl' will launch VOD service through various platforms starting this day. 'Owl' is a thriller depicting the one-night struggle of a blind acupuncturist, who can only see at night, to uncover the truth after witnessing the death of a crown prince.
'The Owl' attracted great attention from the production stage as it was the third screen collaboration between Yoo Hae-jin and Ryu Jun-yeol, following 'A Taxi Driver' and 'The Battle of Bongo-dong'.
Yoo Hae-jin took on the role of a king for the first time in his acting career and left a strong impression with a character he had never seen before, while Ryu Jun-yeol played the role of a blind acupuncturist and delivered a passionate performance that captured the hearts of the audience.
Not only the two, but also actors who give credibility just by hearing their names, such as Choi Moo-sung, Cho Seong-ha, Park Myung-hoon, Kim Seong-cheol, Ahn Eun-jin, and Jo Yoon-seo, added vitality to the play by playing their own characters in their own colors. Director Ahn Tae-jin's sensuous directing and beautiful mise-en-scène were added to this.
Thanks to favorable reviews, 'Owl' exceeded 3.31 million viewers. Starting on this day, simultaneous theater VOD service will be launched on IPTV and OTT, and it is expected to continue the excitement by attracting audiences who have not yet seen the movie during the Lunar New Year holiday and those who want to continue watching the movie for the first time to the first row of theaters and home theaters.
