Director Lim Jeong-hwan's 'Life in the Cenozoic Era' was selected as the opening film of the 49th Seoul Independent Film Festival.
'Life in the Cenozoic Era' is director Lim Jeong-hwan's second feature-length film after 'King of the Border', which won the Executive Committee's Special Award at the 43rd Seoul Independent Film Festival. This work received post-production support from the 2023 Seoul Independent Film Festival, and contains strange things that happen as the main character, Kim Min-ju, who came to Lithuania in search of her missing husband, searches for traces of him.
The main character, Kim Min-ju, was played by actor Kim Sae-byeok, who has shown diverse acting in many works such as the movies 'Sophie's World', 'Hummingbird', and the Netflix series 'Queen Maker'. Kim Oh-young, the protagonist's college junior, was played by actor Shim Dal-gi, who is active in dramas and movies such as 'Moving', 'Ghost', 'Life is Beautiful', and 'Walk'. In addition, the role of the missing husband is played by actor Park Jong-hwan, who is visiting the Seoul Independent Film Festival for his roles in 'Jeolhae Altitude' and various other works.
On November 8, director Lim Jeong-hwan of 'Life in the Cenozoic Era' and the main actors will participate in the official press conference for the Seoul Independent Film Festival 2023, which will be held at Art Nine, and will not only introduce their works in detail, but also reveal their thoughts and expectations for the selection of the opening film.
