'The First Slam Dunk' is hitting theaters with great momentum.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network on the 31st, 'The First Slam Dunk' (directed by Takehiko Inoue) secured first place in the box office, mobilizing 36,042 viewers on the 30th. 'The First Slam Dunk' showed a surprising upward trend with a cumulative audience of 1,958,764, soon reaching 2 million.
'The First Slam Dunk' is a film based on the cartoon 'Slam Dunk' that depicts the dreams, passion, and never-ending challenges of the five members of the Buksan High School basketball team who dream of winning the national championship. An attempt was made to expand the story in that the main character is Song Tae-seop, not Kang Baek-ho.
After its domestic release on the 4th, it reached the top of the box office 23 days later and maintained first place for 4 consecutive days. It is even more eye-catching because it beat the movie 'Negotiation' (director Im Sun-rye), which featured actors Hwang Jung-min and Hyun Bin.
It was followed by 'Negotiation', which attracted 25,085 viewers. The cumulative number is 1,465,053. Third place was 'Avatar: Path of Water' (directed by James Cameron, 'Avatar 2'), which surpassed 10 million viewers and attracted 23,421 people.
'Negotiation' depicts the negotiation operation between a diplomat and a local National Intelligence Service agent who headed to Afghanistan to rescue Koreans who were taken hostage by the Taliban in the worst kidnapping incident.
'Ghost' (directed by Lee Hae-young) is ranked 5th. 10,347 viewers saw it.
