Actor Lee Dong-hwi revealed his beliefs about natural acting.
Actors Lee Dong-hwi, Kang Gil-woo, Jeong Da-eun and director Hyeong Seul-woo attended the press screening of the movie ‘Maybe We Broke Up’ (director Hyung Seul-woo) held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Hangang-ro, Seoul on the afternoon of the 1st.
The movie 'Maybe We Broke Up' is a movie about Lee Dong-hwi and Jung Eun-chae's real-life breakup report depicting the process of a loved one becoming a stranger.
In the movie, Lee Dong-hwi played the role of Jun-ho, a delinquent boyfriend who has been living at his girlfriend A-young's house while preparing for the civil service exam for several years. Eun-chae Jeong played the role of A-young, the girlfriend who gave up her dream of becoming a painter and became a real estate agent for her boyfriend Jun-ho (played by Dong-hwi Lee), who was preparing for the civil service exam.
In the movie, Lee Dong-hwi realistically portrayed Jun-ho, a grizzled man preparing for the civil service exam with a swollen, bare face. Lee Dong-hwi previously shared his position when Jeong Da-eun (played by Choi Anna) said, "It was difficult to understand why she fell in love with Jun-ho."
Lee Dong-hwi said about his long-term relationship with Ah-young and Anna, who plays a college student, dating him, "I also felt that Anna's crush on Jun-ho was very cinematic, and also, does it make sense for the process of characters who have just broken up meeting new people? “I thought about it,” he said.
He continued, "There are things in life that cannot be explained. That friend doesn't seem to have any abilities, but I wonder if he keeps dating. Around me, there are people who make me very curious as to why the opposite sex would be attracted to that friend. “There are a few people,” he said. “In the end, it is the actor’s job to play these roles. I tried to express that that character can make the opposite sex feel emotions at some points and in some corners.”
He continued, "It would be nice if I could feel at ease like this, but the truth is, I can't watch it either. I wonder why it got to that point. That's why sometimes I skip the part where I appear when I'm monitoring." He added, "First of all, when it comes to expressing Junho, it's like the person next to him. “I tried to show it off,” he added.
Lee Dong-hwi laughed, saying, “For this movie, I ate a lot by myself and came back bloated,” and added, “But I’ll think about it again. I think I’ve reached a point where I’m being very rude to everyone.”
Kang Gil-woo, who worked with Jung Eun-chae, also said, "If you've seen actress Jung Eun-chae in real life, you know that her aura is amazing. At the beginning of filming, I had a hard time overcoming that aura. I thought I shouldn't be here. In order to overcome that aura, I had a hard time getting over it." “I remember working hard,” he added.
Jung Eun-chae was absent from the screening that day as she was staying overseas.
‘Maybe We Broke Up’ will be released on February 8.
