'The Home Judge' created a consensus with viewers by dealing with conflicts between friends and siblings.
In the JTBC legal entertainment talk show 'Hometown Judge', which aired on January 31, the stories of a landlord who wanted to forcibly evict his friend living in his house, and an older brother who wanted to have their opinions and decisions respected by their younger brother who was infringing on their right to make decisions were revealed.
First, the first lawsuit introduced the conflict between the defendant, a friend who had been living in the house for eight months, and the plaintiff, a landlord who wanted him to leave the house. Although the agreed-upon date for moving out has passed, the defendant, who is still living in the living room of the plaintiff's house, surprised the lawyers by disorganizing the house and harassing the plaintiff under the pretext of looking for a house.
He even invited his friends without the knowledge of the landlord, the plaintiff, and said he has only paid the utility bill once so far. While the house became more of a mess due to the folding of boxes needed for the side job with friends invited, the plaintiff woke up to a loud noise and expressed the anger that had built up over the years. Afterwards, the defendant decided to give the plaintiff his freedom in order to survive and decided to stay for a few days at the house of another friend who knew the password.
In fact, the defendant was a victim of real estate fraud and was living in his friends' houses, which aroused regret. The plaintiff, who had tried to repay the debt in his own way by paying most of the cost of coffee and food, but was considerate of his friend, ended up demanding a restraining order, an eviction order, and monetary damages from the defendant who stayed longer than promised. Another plaintiff also requested a verbal declaration from the defendant that he would not come to his house in the future.
The senior team representing the plaintiff's landlord requested eviction within the deadline on the grounds of fraud, while the junior team representing the defendant's friend countered, claiming the right to reside on the basis of the establishment of an implicit contract. In particular, when the defendant's lawyer Baek Seung-woo's argument that the defendant should be judged as a person with a de facto right of residence was countered by the plaintiff's Chan-won Lee by explaining the requirements for establishing a home invasion, Shin Jung-kwon was surprised and said, "You're good," and Hong Jin-kyung said, "He can be a real lawyer." After arguments by lawyers that varied between serious and cheerful, the home judges ruled in favor of the senior team plaintiff.
The second lawsuit dealt with the conflict between Ghanaian twin brothers. The lawyers watched the brothers' struggles in daily life, such as shopping and housework, through videos filmed from the older brother's perspective. The younger brother kept recommending bright clothes to the older brother who was choosing dark clothes, and when the older brother saw the wrong price tag, he interfered even more. The older brother, who wanted to rest after returning home, had no choice but to do it when the younger brother, who was preparing dinner, told him to clean and fold the laundry. He ended up getting emotional over the garbage bag errand.
However, the younger brother is also tired of single-minded housework. My brother, who went out to buy food waste bags, ate brisket with his friend and came back 3 hours later, and his emotions deepened as he bought regular trash bags instead of food waste bags. Jeon Hyun-moo unexpectedly decided not to marry after seeing a video of twin brothers who seemed to be bickering, causing a lot of laughter. Jeon Hyun-moo said, "After watching this video, I don't want to get married. I think a divorce lawyer should step in."
During the question and answer session, the brothers' unexpected revelations of their personal lives continued, heightening interest. In a messy situation, Lee Chan-won, who was on the younger side, said, “Please send him to the boxing gym,” causing laughter in the courtroom, which had turned into a muddy fight.
The younger brother's lawyers, who understood the younger brother's desire to protect his older brother, who was his only family in a distant land, began their defense focusing on ways to resolve the conflict amicably, while the older brother's defense focused on the violation of the younger brother's privacy. After a tense argument from both sides, the junior team won the case.
‘Homebrew Judge’ airs every Tuesday at 8:50 PM.
