‘Ant-Man 3’ One-Line Review = Kang the Conqueror? You were so excited!

Kang, the main character rumored to be stronger than Thanos, who is considered the strongest villain in Marvel history, has appeared. Caen's performance after taking off the veil was below expectations.

‘Ant-Man 3’ New Villain ‘Kang’ Combat Power is Bubbly
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantum Mania' (directed by Peyton Reed, hereinafter referred to as 'Ant-Man 3') opens the door to the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) and Phase 5 in 2023. This year's first Marvel movie, 'Ant-Man 3', was above average in terms of overall production quality and the splendid quantum world, but was weakened by the weak performance of Kang, the new villain who had raised expectations.

Janet (Shell Pfeiffer), who was trapped in the quantum realm, meets the exiled villain Kang (Jonathan Majors) there. Lonely Janet befriends Kang and helps him fix the power source that allows him to escape to the multiverse. However, Janet soon learns of Kang's identity and uses Pym particles to enlarge the power source to stop Kang's plan. Afterwards, the 'Ant-Man' family, including Scott (Paul Rudd), Hope (Evangeline Lilly), Janet, Hank (Michael Douglas), and Cathy, who fell into the vortex of the quantum realm due to an experiment by Cathy (Catherine Newton), escape the quantum realm and survive the world. They fight against Kang, who wants to conquer them.

We looked forward to seeing what kind of combat power and abilities Kang, who was called the 'conqueror' and described Thanos as an appetizer, would show, but Kang did not leave a special impression other than when he threatened Scott in the beginning to bring him the escape key. Kang had the ability to control Scott and Cassie's bodies and control space and time, but he was completely defeated by Hank's swarm of ants. In particular, the final scene of being sucked into the quantum realm power source reminded me of the genie from the magic lamp and only created emptiness.

The movie's CG and battle scenes are flashy and intense, befitting Marvel's reputation. Scott's love for his daughter Cassie and the father and daughter's activities stand out, emphasizing the message of family love that 'Ant-Man' has consistently conveyed. Some lines delivered through Scott and Cathy are meaningful in themselves, but they float without any connection to the narrative in the play.

Many characters in the quantum world are unique and attractive. The imagination unfolds as characters with six eyes and birds similar to those from 'Avatar' appear. In particular, Darren (Corey Stoll), who was thought to be dead in the previous film, appears as the final weapon. The visual of a large face with baby-like limbs is difficult to see at first, but it becomes a point of laughter at the end.

The power of Scott and Cassie, who became huge through Pym particles, is stronger than expected, giving an exhilarating feeling. However, because of this, the tension in the confrontation with Kang is reduced as it gives the impression of 'Ant-Man is stronger?' rather than a close-matched structure.

'Ant-Man 3' running time 124 minutes. Suitable for ages 12 and older. 2 cookie videos.
