Character stills from the Netflix movie ‘Gil Bok-soon’ (directed by Byun Seong-hyun) have been released.
On the 21st, Netflix released stills of five characters in 'Gil Bok-soon', each with their own distinct charm and narrative. 'Gil Bok-soon' is the story of Gil Bok-soon, a legendary killer in the contract killing industry, who is caught up in an inevitable confrontation that will either kill him or kill him, just before renewing his contract with the company.
The stills of Gil Bok-soon (played by Jeon Do-yeon), the best killer at MK ENT, a top-tier contract killing company, stand out, showing the contrast between her appearance as a killer and her appearance as a mother. Jeon Do-yeon takes on the role of Gil Bok-soon, who lives a double life between being a special A-level killer and her mother.
Gil Bok-soon is a skilled killer recognized by everyone, so much so that she is called Kil Bok-soon in the industry, but she is a single mother who has a difficult relationship with her 15-year-old daughter, who she is raising alone. Jeon Do-yeon introduced Gil Bok-soon as "a character who finds herself through her daughter's growth in the contradictory life of a killer and a mother." Jeon Do-yeon will portray the worries between a killer, a mother of an adolescent daughter, and a double life with her unique, delicate acting.
Seol Kyeong-gu played the role of Cha Min-gyu, the CEO of MK ENT, the company where Gil Bok-soon works. Cha Min-gyu, the CEO of the best company in the industry that established the rules and established the contract killing industry, is the teacher and boss who recognized the natural talent of 17-year-old Gil Bok-sun and raised him to become a legendary killer. Anyone who breaks the rules is punished with death, but Cha Min-gyu, who makes an exception for Gil Bok-soon, was created as a three-dimensional character when he met Sol Kyeong-gu, who creates a narrative with just his eyes.
Kim Sia takes on the role of Gil Jae-young, the daughter of Gil Bok-soon, who is going through a tempestuous time. Gil Jae-young is a 15-year-old girl who, in addition to living alone with her mother who doesn't know what she's doing, has a difficult school life. As she starts to keep more and more secrets, she tries to build a wall with her mother. Sia Kim said, “It feels different from the characters I’ve played before.” Kim Sia shows off a new side of herself as the daughter Gil Jae-young, who resembles her mother Gil Bok-soon in many ways, including her mother Gil Bok-soon's eloquence and acting skills, as well as the bold but secretive side of a teenage girl.
Lee Som plays the role of Cha Min-hee, Cha Min-gyu's younger brother and the director of MK ENT. Cha Min-hee, who has an exceptionally deep affection for her brother, does not like the way her brother is particularly generous to Gil Bok-sun among the company's killers. Lee Som said, “He has a simple personality, but he is someone whose true feelings are unknown.” Cha Min-hee is expected to add fun to the drama as a unique character who coexists affection for her older brother Cha Min-gyu and feelings of jealousy and control over Gil Bok-soon.
Koo Kyo-hwan is expected to play Han Hee-seong, a killer belonging to MK ENT. Han Hee-seong, who has A-level skills but is stuck at C-level for some reason, likes and respects his senior, Gil Bok-sun, but runs into a wall of grades that he cannot overcome. Koo Kyo-hwan said, “It’s an interesting character with a vagueness that seems ambitious and sometimes lacks ambition,” adding to curiosity about Han Hee-seong, a killer with a complex inner self.
Director Byun Seong-hyeon's solid directing skills have been further upgraded, Jeon Do-yeon's delicate acting skills and action, which will show the dilemma of Gil Bok-soon, an attractive character between a killer and a single mother, and the synergy of talented actors who will create a bloody, dangerous and interesting relationship, all providing the fun of a complex genre. The movie ‘Gilbok-soon’ will be released exclusively on Netflix on March 31st.
