Lee Bo-young revealed that she experienced the hardships of office life while filming 'Agency'.
Recently, I met Lee Bo-young, the protagonist of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Agency', at a cafe in Sinsa-dong, Seoul.
'Agency' is a work that depicts Go Ah-in (played by Lee Bo-young), who became the first female executive at an advertising agency VC group, and builds her career to reach the top position. It ended on the 16th.
Lee Bo-young played the role of Go Ah-in, a powerful person who joined the company as a copywriter at a VC group and became the first female executive.
Lee Bo-young laughed, saying, "I have nothing in common with Goans. I don't want to live that obsessively. I can't be someone who pretends to be strong when I'm weak and puts it on the outside." He continued, "I always felt sorry for A-in. I especially hated the scene where he enters the dark, dark house alone, even while filming." He then jokingly said, “If we were to find something in common, it would be our similar appearance.”
Lee Bo-young, who has never worked in a company or organization, said, "While filming, I asked the director, 'Are you really getting promoted like this, not just a script made up in your imagination?' I said, 'I don't understand this kind of politics, and I asked if it was really like that.'" He continued, "I told the director and writer at first that I didn't want this drama to be about gender issues. I said I wanted it to feel like a person growing up. I said I didn't want it to be a male vs. female structure."
Lee Bo-young said, "When I work in an organization, I don't think I can do it when people yell like Ain like this. So, for some people, it's like a fantasy, and I think they get vicarious satisfaction by watching Ain yell. It's better to say out loud what you only say in your head. “It’s refreshing. I filmed it thinking that people would find that part interesting.” He continued, "While filming, I thought, 'It's really hard to work at a company,' and 'Every day is like a battlefield.' I thought my social life was difficult, but my organizational life was also difficult."
Lee Bo-young said, "There are times when my debut and career as an actor pass me by like a flash. I think, 'I've endured well' and 'I'm holding on well.' Ain, me, and everyone else in society are holding on well. I think holding on is similar. “I did,” he added.
