‘Marijuana detected in urine’ Yoo Ah-in tests positive for propofol

TV Chosun reported on the 23rd that actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Eom Hong-sik, 36) tested positive for 'marijuana' and 'propofol' in a narcotics test conducted by the National Forensic Service (National Forensic Service).

According to reports, the police collected Yoo Ah-in's urine and hair on the 5th and requested an investigation from the National Forensic Service. Previous urine tests showed positive for marijuana and negative for propofol. Propofol also came back positive through a hair test.

A urine test can only identify drugs used within a relatively short period of time, but a hair test can identify most drugs taken within a year. As Yoo Ah-in tested positive for marijuana in a urine test, it is even more shocking that he was determined to have recently taken marijuana as of the date of collection.

The police are investigating whether Yoo Ah-in is a habitual drug user based on the results of the National Forensic Service and his cell phone. Yoo Ah-in will soon be summoned for investigation on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act. Since the suspicion has been identified, Yoo Ah-in will be investigated as a suspect.

Meanwhile, Yoo Ah-in's side is said to be waiting for official contact from the police. As the police investigation is still underway, we are refraining from commenting on any additional statements regarding this matter. On the 8th, the agency UAA added, "Yoo Ah-in was recently investigated by the police regarding propofol. We are actively cooperating with all investigations related to this and plan to actively explain any problematic aspects. We apologize for any inconvenience caused." They are not revealing their position.

Yoo Ah-in is scheduled to release the movie ‘The Victory’ (directed by Kim Hyung-joo) and the Netflix series ‘The Fool of the End’ (screenplay by Jeong Seong-ju and director Kim Jin-min) on Netflix this year. The movie 'High Five' (directed by Kang Hyeong-cheol) is also scheduled to be released on screen this year.

Among them, 'Seungseob' is in the public lineup for the upcoming second quarter. Setbacks were inevitable due to lead actor Yoo Ah-in's drug-related issues. 'The Battle' is a movie depicting the inevitable match between two legends of Korean baduk, Jo Hoon-hyeon (Lee Byung-hun) and Lee Chang-ho (Yoo Ah-in), who were teacher, disciple, and rival.

‘The Fool of the End’ is also scheduled to be released this year. Netflix, which had stated that it would monitor the situation, is in despair as Yoo Ah-in's drug charges have been identified. The movie 'High Five', which is scheduled to be released on the big screen, is also expected to have a prolonged drug-related issue with Yoo Ah-in, making it difficult to avoid the aftereffects.

The fast-moving advertising world has already erased traces of Yoo Ah-in. Fashion channel Musinsa, cosmetics brand Santecai, luxury fashion brand Bottega Veneta, outdoor brand Nepa, and health food brand Chong Kun Dang Health erased Yoo Ah-in's face from various advertising channels.
