Interview with Lee Sung-min as Sun-tae in the movie ‘Confidential’
Actor Lee Sung-min mentioned Song Joong-ki, his co-star in the drama 'The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family'.
On the morning of the 27th, Lee Seong-min conducted a round interview for the upcoming movie 'Confidential' (directed by Lee Won-tae) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'Confidential' is set in Busan in 1992, and a fierce struggle between Hae-woong (played by Cho Jin-woong), a candidate for the National Assembly, Sun-tae (played by Lee Seong-min), a hidden figure in politics, and Pil-do (played by Kim Moo-yeol), an activist gangster, to get hold of a secret document that will shake up the Republic of Korea and turn the tables. It is a crime drama that unfolds.
In the play, Lee Sung-min played the role of Sun-tae. Suntae is a powerful figure with hidden power who controls the Busan political scene in the 1992s.
Previously, Cho Jin-woong said, “I wish ‘Confidential’ would come out quickly before the ‘youngest son of a chaebol family’ season ends.”
On this day, Lee Seong-min was asked about the popularity of 'The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family', and he said, "It used to shine, but it's not like that these days. It is true that 'The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family' felt real when it was broadcast. It was an uproar. People were surprised as if it was their first time doing a drama." opened.
He laughed, saying, “I received a lot of calls from people in the industry. They said, ‘I’m watching the show,’ ‘It’s so fun,’ and ‘It’s great.’ I don’t usually say things like that.” He said, “I thought, ‘This will also end in a month.’”
Lee Sung-min said of Song Joong-ki, with whom he co-starred in ‘The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family,’ that he was “a silken rope.” He mentioned 'string' throughout the interview and made everyone laugh by saying, "Actually, I made it up on the fly. (Song Joong-ki) was a great actor. He always called me 'grandfather' even on set."
He also said, "He was a very shy child. He had to take care of everyone, including staff members whose names he didn't know and even senior and junior actors. He came to my house to play. I had a preconceived notion of his appearance, but that wasn't the case at all, it was the opposite. I was surprised when I went to the restaurant." He said, "He didn't cover his face or sit in the corner. It was amazing that he was a world star."
Lee Seong-min said, "I ate sundae soup in Seochon, and it was there. I'm a person who lives by the public's attention, and I shouldn't feel uncomfortable about receiving attention, but Joong-ki was like that. That point was impressive. I tried to do the same, but it was difficult. He expressed his affection by saying, "When I'm sensitive, when the public comes, I can't make them feel comfortable either. That's something worth imitating."
Meanwhile, 'Confidential' starring Lee Sung-min will be released on March 1.
