The movie 'Rebound', a collaboration between director Jang Hang-jun and writer Kim Eun-hee, is coming out.

On the morning of the 14th, a production briefing session for the movie 'Rebound' (directed by Jang Hang-jun) was held at Lotte Cinema at the entrance of Konkuk University, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and director Jang Hang-jun, along with Ahn Jae-hong, Lee Shin-young, Jeong Jin-woon, Kim Taek, Jeong Geon-ju, Kim Min, and Ahn Ji-ho, attended.

On this day, director Jang Hang-jun did not spare a word about his wife, writer Kim Eun-hee, who participated as a screenwriter for this work. Kim Eun-hee was named as the writer of 'Rebound' along with Kwon Seong-hwi. Director Jang looked back on his work with writer Kim, saying, "We did valuable work after a long time while complementing each other's needs," and looked forward to the birth of a good result.

Previously, director Jang and writer Kim collaborated on the SBS drama 'Sign' and received favorable reviews. This work, a medical investigation drama based on forensics, was a hit when it aired in 2011, recording a viewer rating of up to 25.5% and an average of 18.7%.

Afterwards, the work that Director Jang and Writer Kim worked together on was through the drama 'Infinite Boss', a special feature of MBC's entertainment program 'Infinite Challenge'. They worked together to create '2016 Infinite Company's Office Worker in Crisis', the 7th series and final episode of 'Infinite Company'. Although the result was evaluated as exceeding expectations in terms of the challenges of the 'Infinite Challenge' members, from the perspective of Jang Hang-jun and Kim Eun-hee, the narrative was poor. There was also a negative evaluation that it was loose and not smooth.

Regarding this, Director Jang said, "At first, I did the drama 'Sign' with writer Kim Eun-hee, and thankfully it went well because it received a lot of love. However, after 'Infinite Bosses' ended, the two of us fought a bit. Normally, we rarely fight, but I was wondering whether or not we would fight in a few years. “We fought,” he confessed, adding, “In the past, I was popular and writer Kim Eun-hee was new, so they listened to my story a lot. But now, when we work together, we are in sharp conflict. My words didn’t work, and we ended up fighting over the work.”

He added, "I thought this wasn't going to work, so I said, 'Eunhee, we shouldn't be together anymore.' At that time, writer Kim Eunhee and I were interviewed, and we ended up talking about this."

In an interview at the time, director Jang and writer Kim each declared that they would not collaborate with each other, but they came together once again through this 'rebound'.

Director Jang Hang-jun said, "The public may have misunderstood, but I would like to take this opportunity to correct it. I have never asked writer Kim Eun-hee to work first. Writer Kim Eun-hee asked me to do it," and added, "Even after 'Infinite Boss' ended, writer Kim Eun-hee continued to work. “He said he wanted me to work with him, but I wasn’t hungry or not. I don’t know why,” he said, adding, “For this work, writer Kim Eun-hee monitored me when I received the script, and I told her first that I wanted to do it.”

He continued, "Writer Kim Eun-hee first said, 'Oppa, can't I fix this?' I thought to myself, 'What kind of crap is this?'" He continued, "We are not only a couple, but we have also been colleagues for a very long time. This time, we will work together as colleagues. “After checking it out, I was convinced that ‘this marriage can last a long time,’” he said, making everyone laugh.

Director Jang Hang-jun and writer Kim Eun-hee worked together for the movie 'Rebound' following the dramas 'Sign' and 'Infinite Company'. Expectations are high whether the couple's synergy will be revealed through this work.

Meanwhile, director Jang Hang-jun could not hide his excitement regarding the release of 'Rebound' amid the recent 'The First Slam Dunk' boom. Movies will also be positively influenced by the basketball boom. He said, "It wasn't released exactly at the right time, but it was originally decided to be released around this time." He added, "I saw an article like that on the Internet. 'Is Jang Hang-jun really a blessing from God? I can't believe it's a slam dunk here.' “Is this what you mean?” they were lamenting,” he said, drawing laughter.

Director Jang continued, "Regarding the timing of our release, 'Slam Dunk' is a great help to our film. In fact, all of my friends here are from the generation that grew up watching 'Slam Dunk,' and I really enjoyed it." “I hope this will be an opportunity to continue the boom with a true story and live-action movie,” he said.

'Rebound' is a moving true story that tells the miraculous story of the 8 days of the 2012 National High School Basketball Tournament, where a new coach and 6 players of the weakest basketball team that no one paid attention to worked tirelessly.
