‘Casino’ Lee Dong-hwi “My wish to act with Choi Min-sik came true.”

Lee Dong-hwi expressed his honor by collaborating with Choi Min-sik in 'Casino'.

On the 24th, I met actor Lee Dong-hwi, who appeared in Disney+'s 'Casino', at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul. 'Casino' is the story of Cha Moo-sik (played by Choi Min-sik), a casino legend, who faces a crisis and begins to make the last bet of his life against the persistent pursuit of Korean Desk Oh Seung-hoon (played by Son Seok-gu). The last episode of Season 2 was released on the 22nd. Lee Dong-hwi played the role of Yang Jeong-pal, Cha Mu-sik's right-hand man.

Lee Dong-hwi said, "There are many juniors who wish to act with senior Choi Min-sik. Even when I gave presentations in college, I even included scenes featuring the senior. Seniors are actors' actors. There are many actors who wish they could act with seniors once in their lives, and I also do that. "It's one of them. When my senior said he would do it, I thought I wanted to play any role," he said, explaining his reason for appearing. He continued, "When I saw Jung-pal in the script, I felt like I wanted to take on the challenge. There were a lot of fun scenes with Cha Moo-sik from the beginning, and he played a role like a lubricant in this work. I also vaguely had expectations of how I could make it more interesting with my senior." He expressed his excitement at getting it right.

When asked what it was like to work with Choi Min-sik, Lee Dong-hwi said, "Senior accepted me with a generous heart no matter what kind of acting I did. 'If I do this, isn't it an NG?' “We gave each other enough to think about it, and there are a lot of things like that that came out,” he said. He continued, "I had a unique experience while acting with my senior. He is someone I have looked up to since my school days. Although I was honored to act with my senior, I was also worried and nervous. My senior encouraged me not to be intimidated and kept me from letting down my guard. He was thrilled, saying, "There are many scenes that viewers found interesting that I improvised with my senior. It's all thanks to my senior. I was buried in it."

When asked if he had learned anything after acting with Choi Min-sik, Lee Dong-hwi said, "I stopped being late. My senior came to the filming set an hour early and prepared. Watching that, I naturally did the same. I naturally watched and learned how my senior came to the set and prepared. "I learned a lot about the energy that leads the field, the accurate judgment, and the ability to make decisions while watching from the side. He creates a gentle atmosphere so that the juniors do not lose courage or feel intimidated." He continued, "There is something that impressed me. People think of ad-libs as a basketball game. When I ad-lib, I tend to speak first so as not to suddenly embarrass the other actor. But my senior told me not to ask. During a basketball game, someone said, 'I am you. He said that there is no one who says, 'I'll pass it to him.' Instead, he said that no matter how the pass comes at any moment, you have to be prepared to do it, whether you pass it again or throw a shot. I took it to mean that I had to prepare more and come to the scene. “I thought I had to be more prepared to complete that scene no matter what happened. There were more than one thing I learned,” he said.
