Actress Sung Yu-ri has remained silent about her husband Ahn Sung-hyun's fraud allegations for several months.
On the 7th, Sung Yu-ri's husband, professional golfer Ahn Seung-hyeon, attended the pre-arrest interrogation (substantive warrant examination) held at the Seoul Southern District Court. The Southern District Prosecutors' Office's Financial Investigation Division 2 (Chief Prosecutor Chae Hee-man) requested an arrest warrant for Ahn Seong-hyeon on the 5th on charges of violation of the Specific Economic Crimes Act (fraud) and breach of trust.
Ahn Seong-hyun is known as the best friend of actress Park Min-young's ex-boyfriend Kang Jong-hyeon. Kang Jong-hyun is suspected of receiving billions of won in bribes under the pretext of listing virtual currency on Bithumb, a virtual currency exchange where he is suspected of being the actual owner.
Sung Yu-ri has been denying knowledge of the suspicions regarding her husband for several months already. In the past, she only briefly mentioned the opinion, "I don't know about the relationship between my husband and Kang Jong-hyun. It has nothing to do with Bithumb."
She rarely opens up about the crisis of her husband's arrest, which took place on the 7th. Currently, Sung Yu-ri's agency and even the staff are refusing to contact her.
The decision on whether to arrest Ahn Seong-hyun is expected to be made this afternoon.
