Nominations announced for the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards


Nominees for the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards in the TV, film, and theater categories have been revealed.

On the 7th, the Baeksang Arts Awards secretariat opened the official website and announced the final candidates for each category who have performed well in the TV, film, and theater categories over the past year.

In the best drama category, the final candidates are 'My Liberation Journal' (JTBC), 'The Glory' (Netflix), 'Our Blues' (tvN), 'Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo' (ENA), and 'Little Women' (tvN). The candidates for Best Picture in Liberal Arts are ‘National Investigation Headquarters’ (Wave), ‘I Am God: Those Who Betrayed by God’ (Netflix), ‘Your Literacy+’ (EBS 1TV), ‘Adult Kim Jang-ha’ (MBC Gyeongnam), and ‘Hidden Earth: 3 Billion Years of the Korean Peninsula’ (KBS 1TV)' was selected.

In line with changes in the platform environment and usage patterns of viewers who enjoy content, the entertainment award has expanded the scope of judging to not only entertainment programs broadcast on TV and OTT platforms, but also web entertainment including web content by solo creators. 'Poop Pop Earth Arcade' (tvN), 'Pisik University-Physik Show', 'Physical: 100' (Netflix), 'Transit Love 2' (Tving), and 'SNL Korea 3' (Coupang Play) were nominated for Best Entertainment Award. A preliminary survey of 60 industry expert evaluators was conducted, and judges in each category, appointed on the recommendation of a group of experts representing TV, film, and theater, decided on the final candidates through a fair and strict screening process.
