The movie ‘Soulmate’ (director Min Yong-geun) launches VOD service.
According to distributor NEW on the 13th, the 'Soul Mate' VOD service will begin from this day. You can meet your ‘soulmate’ through various platforms. Along with this, the famous line from ‘Soulmate’ was revealed.
“You said that the reason the sun can shine safely is because of its shadow. Even though we are not one body, there is a shadow that never leaves even if it is far away, so the sun can shine without being lonely for the rest of its life. That day, I suddenly remembered that story.”
Miso and Ha-eun have been together ever since they first became friends. Following Miso's decision to leave for Seoul, the two face their first separation. Ha-eun's narration on the way back after a sad farewell while swallowing tears reminded me of the depth of friendship between the two, adding to the sadness.
“Live as you are drawn to. Believe in your talent.”
Miso, who left for Seoul, and Haeun, who remained in Jeju, exchange letters and say hello. The longer the two people spend apart, the more their longing for each other grows. This line, which contains Miso's sincere support for Ha-eun, who has many worries on the road to becoming an adult, also provided encouragement to many people who may be experiencing similar concerns as Ha-eun.
“Do you think everyone you know loved you? Do you think there was even one person who truly loved you? No one but me! There is no one in this world who loved you other than me.”
Miso and Ha-eun, who have been turning their backs on each other for a long time due to misunderstandings, unexpectedly reunite in front of Jin-woo's house. Mi-so, who was struggling with the death of her boyfriend, stumbles towards Ha-eun whom she hasn't seen in a long time and hugs her, but Ha-eun's expression is cold.
The two's emotions gradually become more intense, and Ha-eun shouts out her disappointment towards Mi-so through tears. Ha-eun's line about smiling, combined with Kim Da-mi and Jeon So-ni's powerful acting, left a strong impression that many audiences chose it as the best scene from 'Soulmate.'
“Do you know why everyone’s face is different? Everyone should live differently. That’s why they all look different. There is no set way to live. Live the way you want. That’s really what mom wants.”
Ha-eun was selfish and felt sorry for everyone, but she made the best choice for herself and finally decided to leave Jeju. On the day of departure, Ha-eun and her mother have a conversation while looking at the pouring rain. When Ha-eun asks if she is disappointed, her mother cheers her up and tells her to live as she wants. This line, which clearly conveys the mother's love for her daughter, brought warm comfort to the hearts of the audience and brought tears to their eyes.
“Now I want to draw your face. It’s a picture I can’t even draw without love.”
When Ha-eun was young, she drew Jin-woo and said that when she drew him in the same way, she could see her own heart, not that of him. And as an adult, Miso says that she wants to draw a picture that cannot be drawn without love in order to look into the deep friendship that remained in the time she built with Ha-eun. Miso and Ha-eun suddenly resemble each other so much. This line, which can be said to be a line that penetrates 'Soulmate', is known to have been created by director Min Yong-geun with inspiration from a writer he met during an interview, adding to its depth of meaning.
Meanwhile, 'Soul Mate' tells the story of two friends, Miso (played by Da-mi Kim), Ha-eun (played by So-ni Jeon), and Jin-woo (played by Woo-seok Byeon), who recognized each other from their first meeting and experienced everything together, including joy, sadness, excitement, and longing. .
