Director Lim Jae-wan, who directed the movie 'Long D', revealed the reason for casting Jang Dong-yoon.
On the 25th, a press preview of the movie 'Long D' (directed by Lim Jae-wan) was held at CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Actors Jang Dong-yoon, Park Yu-na, and director Lim Jae-wan attended the press conference held after the preview.
'Long D' tells the untact love story of Do-ha (played by Jang Dong-yoon) and Tae-in (played by Park Yu-na), a couple of the same age who have been in a long-distance relationship for five years before turning 30.
On this day, director Lim Jae-wan said, "'Long D' is Korea's first screen life romantic comedy. It is a modern movie, and we made it fresh and energetic." He added, "When I first received the offer to direct, I wondered if romantic comedy and screen life would be a good fit. After thinking about it, I sympathized with the story I was trying to tell, and since it depicts the story of young couples these days, I thought it would be a good fit because it is indispensable in real life."
Director Lim Jae-wan mentioned the reason for casting Jang Dong-yoon. He explained, "The first thing I thought about was freshness. Isn't our movie new too? I hope it's fresh, and I hope it suits each character."
Director Lim Jae-wan, who said, “From the planning stage, the role of Do-ha was Jang Dong-yoon,” said, “Do-ha’s character is lovable in some ways, but he is also stubborn, devoted to his girlfriend, and sincere in living for her. Due to the nature of the screen life genre, there are a lot of close-ups, and in that respect, Jang Dong-yoon plays the role. “The actor fit the image I had in mind. What I felt while filming was that he was an actor with both thin and thick lines.”
Meanwhile, 'Long D' will be released on May 10th.
