Interview with Jang Dong-yoon as Doha in the movie ‘Long D’
Actor Jang Dong-yoon revealed the reason why he does not use social media.
On the morning of the 26th, Jang Dong-yoon told various stories related to the upcoming movie 'Long D' (directed by Lim Jae-wan) at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
'Long D' tells the untact love story of Do-ha (played by Jang Dong-yoon) and Tae-in (played by Park Yu-na), a couple of the same age who have been in a long-distance relationship for five years before turning 30. In particular, it is the first Korean film to showcase the screen life of the romantic comedy genre. Screen life is a genre of movies that consists only of SNS windows, web cams, and YouTube screens through the screens of digital devices such as PC, mobile, and CCTV.
In the play, Jang Dong-yoon plays the role of Do-ha, a newcomer to society. Doha fell in love with Taein at first sight when she saw him singing on the streets of Hongdae five years ago. We started out as fans and became lovers.
Jang Dong-yoon attempted a powerful transformation in last year's 'Wolf Hunting'. Through 'Long D', she shows off a 180-degree difference in the image of a strange but lovely boyfriend. He uses all kinds of social media during the movie. However, in reality, Jang Dong-yoon does not use SNS.
Jang Dong-yoon said, “Of course, SNS has its pros and cons.” He continued, "There may be people who can make use of many of their strengths, but I don't think they only have strengths. For me, a certain part of my private life is bound to be exposed rather than my strengths. If I choose to upload the private part rather than the work part, my intention is conveyed. “I had to choose among the photos I took and write a post about them, but I wasn’t confident that I would be good at that,” he added.
Jang Dong-yoon said, "Only one part of me is shown, but I don't know which part of me to show. I prefer to distinguish between public and private things. It's a shame that I can't take advantage of the good points. In the past, I used to work on Facebook and Cyworld. Debut “Afterwards, I think SNS has many bad things for me,” he explained.
Also, "Of course, just because you don't use SNS doesn't mean you can't feel it (reactions, popularity, etc.). If you use SNS, you will likely see the opinions of a small number of people and their detailed opinions. I've said this before. We need to listen to the public's stories, but , If you pay attention to everything, your center will collapse, and if your center collapses, isn't there a risk? There are a lot of people around me who give me feedback. So I didn't feel like I was lacking. When I go to social media, I get blocked. I show people what fans have posted. “I often look at it at that time. Most of the time, I confirm the photos posted on the company’s SNS account before posting them,” he said.
'Long D' starring Jang Dong-yoon will be released on May 10th.
