Girl group members reveal the reality of K-POP
Miya, a former member of the girl group GWSN, revealed her celebrity activities in Korea and her experiences in the K-pop market through an interview.

On the 22nd, through an interview with the Asahi Shimbun in Japan, Miya talked about her idol life in Korea, the problems of her agency, and her struggles with a new start.

Miya said, "We started practicing right after we got back from school, and when we finished, it was completely dark outside." Every time I went to practice, I weighed myself in front of my manager. After that, I had to report something like 'I'm going to eat a banana and a boiled egg today', but I felt like I was going crazy.”

Miya continued, “The company I worked for was particularly strict. I had no free time, no money, and my cell phone was confiscated. I could barely talk to my family on the manager's phone," he said.

Miya revealed that the members were able to become close with each other due to the supervision and pressure of the agency. He said, “When I was filming the music video, there was food for the staff, so I used to steal tteokbokki and chicken and hide them. Those things strengthened the solidarity between us. I mean a kind of solidarity developed through oversight or abuse.”

Miya revealed that she became an illegal alien due to her agency's inexperienced work. “I don’t know how the agency handled things, but there were times when I became an illegal resident. It's upsetting, but it's business-related, so I don't want to criticize it too much."

GWSN is a 7-member multinational group that debuted in September 2018. In 2019, one year after his debut, he moved to The Wave Music as his agency Kiwi Media Group underwent a rehabilitation process, but once again stopped activities due to management difficulties at the agency.
