Yoo Ah-in attended the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul at 10:30 am on the 24th, and from 11:00 am, he was interrogated (warrant review) before arrest. Yoo Ah-in stood in the photo line wearing a black suit and tie. However, sparse white hair was spotted all over the head as if to represent the hardships of the mind recently, drawing attention.
When asked by the reporters, "Do you admit the charges?", "Did you use cocaine?" and "Is it true that you tried to get the accomplice to escape?" I didn't even do it," he answered briefly and headed to the courtroom.
This is the first time Yoo Ah-in has admitted to the charges in front of reporters. Regarding the police and prosecutors' request for an arrest warrant based on the denial of the charges, it is interpreted that Yoo Ah-in admitted to the charges and showed self-reflection as if he had read the trend of the situation belatedly. The interpretation of the legal community is that the intention to avoid arrest was implied.
Yoo Ah-in's closest aide and alleged accomplice, Choi, appeared 30 minutes later and was interrogated.
Previously, the police applied for an arrest warrant as they believed that Yoo Ah-in had taken a total of 5 types of drugs. The police and prosecutors believed that Yoo Ah-in was denying the charges and that a detention investigation was necessary because they judged that there was a risk of destroying evidence.
In February, the police received the results of an analysis from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation that found four types of narcotic components, including hemp, propofol, cocaine, and ketamine, in Yoo Ah-in's hair and urine. We have been investigating and capturing the circumstances of prescriptions for non-medical purposes.
