Kim Shin-rok Shines Globally with Cannes Debut and Theater Acclaim

Kim Shin-rok is reaching new heights in her acting career, captivating both the global stage and prestigious award ceremonies.

Director Yeon Sang-ho's new film 'The Hive,' featuring Kim Shin-rok, has been officially invited to the Midnight Screening section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival this May. 'The Hive' is a gripping tale of isolated survivors battling evolving infected beings within a quarantined building during a mysterious outbreak.

In the film, Kim Shin-rok plays 'Choi Hyun-hee,' an IT company employee and sister to Choi Hyun-seok (played by Ji Chang-wook), delivering a compelling performance that anchors the narrative. This invitation marks Kim's first appearance on the Cannes red carpet, where she is expected to leave a lasting impression on the global film community and critics.

Beyond her screen success, Kim has also made significant strides on the theater stage. Her performance in the play 'Prima Facie' last year garnered both audience acclaim and critical praise, earning her a nomination for Best Actress in Theater at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards.

'Prima Facie' is a one-woman show that explores the legal and psychological turmoil of a lawyer who becomes a victim of sexual assault. Kim's ability to command the stage with extensive dialogue and intense emotional depth earned her accolades as "an awe-inspiring performance that dominates the stage."
