Yoo Ah-in hid drug evidence from the police
Actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Um Hong-sik, 37), who is accused of habitual drug use, was found to have lied about his real address during a police investigation.

On the 24th, JTBC reported on the words of the police, "The police saw the possibility of destroying evidence in that they hid the house where Yoo Ah-in actually lives."

According to reports, during the police investigation, Yoo Ah-in stated that the address on his resident registration was the house he actually resides in, but this turned out to be false. The police found evidence of drug use in Yoo Ah-in's actual residence, confirmed the possibility of destroying evidence about Yoo Ah-in, and determined that he was in a state of drug addiction. This is the reason why the police applied for an arrest warrant for Yoo Ah-in, even though he was a first-time offender with no criminal record.

Yoo Ah-in attended the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul at 10:30 am on the 24th, and from 11:00 am, he was interrogated (warrant review) before arrest. Yoo Ah-in stood in the photo line wearing a black suit and tie. However, sparse white hair was spotted all over the head as if to represent the hardships of the mind recently, drawing attention.

When asked by the reporters, "Do you admit the charges?", "Did you use cocaine?" and "Is it true that you tried to get the accomplice to escape?" I didn't even do it," he answered briefly and headed to the courtroom.

This is the first time Yoo Ah-in has admitted to the charges in front of reporters. Regarding the police and prosecutors' request for an arrest warrant based on the denial of the charges, it is interpreted that Yoo Ah-in admitted to the charges and showed self-reflection as if he had read the trend of the situation belatedly. The interpretation of the legal community is that the intention to avoid arrest was implied.

Yoo Ah-in's closest aide and alleged accomplice, Choi, appeared 30 minutes later and was interrogated.

Yoo Ah-in later exited the court after interrogating the suspect before arrest at 12:40 p.m. When asked, "Do you not regret taking drugs?" Yoo Ah-in answered, "I do." Yoo Ah-in was tied to a rope and boarded the convoy. Yoo Ah-in and Choi will each wait in the detention center of the Mapo Police Station until the results of the court's review come out.

The court plans to decide whether to issue an arrest warrant this evening at the earliest.
