Ryu Seung-wan's action 'smuggling' officially invited to the 76th Locarno International Film Festival

The movie 'Smuggling' (director Ryu Seung-wan) was officially invited to the non-competition section 'Piazza Grande' of the 76th Locarno Film Festival.

'Smuggling' is a maritime crime action drama in which a life-long battle unfolds in front of people who make a living by rescuing daily necessities thrown into the sea and get caught up in it. In addition to Ryu Seung-wan's action and story, actors Kim Hye-soo, Yeom Jeong-ah, Jo In-seong, Park Jung-min, Kim Jong-soo, and Go Min-si appear.

The 'Piazza Grande' section of the 76th Locarno International Film Festival, which runs from August 2 (Wed) to 12 (Sat), is a section that invites works that have both commercial and artistic qualities.

The Locarno International Film Festival, which celebrates its 76th anniversary this year, is the largest film festival in Switzerland with a long history and tradition as the Cannes International Film Festival and the Venice International Film Festival. In 2019, actor Song Kang-ho won the 'Excellence Award' and screened the films 'Parasite' and 'Memories of Murder' in which he appeared. Films invited to the Piazza Grande section will be screened at the 8,000-seat outdoor screening hall located in Piazza Grande Square, and will be judged for the Audience Award and the Critic Award judged by foreign variety critics.

'Smuggling' will be released on July 26th.
