TV CHOSUN's 'Doctor Shin' Concludes with 2.3% Viewership, Unveiling Twists and Emotional Farewells

The latest drama by writer Im Sung-han, 'Doctor Shin' on TV CHOSUN, concluded with a viewership rating of 2.3%.

The final episode of TV CHOSUN's weekend mini-series 'Doctor Shin', aired on the 3rd, recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 2.3% and a peak of 2.5%, according to Nielsen Korea. Throughout its run, 'Doctor Shin' maintained ratings between 1-2%, reflecting a somewhat disappointing performance.

In the finale, after the death of Geum Bara's (played by Joo Se-bin) body, which had Jin-joo Kim's (played by Cheon Young-min) brain, a funeral and cremation were held. Momo (played by Baek Seo-ra), who possessed Geum Bara's brain, was heartbroken by the sight of Ha Yong-jung (played by Ahn Woo-yeon) grieving. At the temple where Geum Bara's ashes were placed, Momo (with Geum Bara's brain), Ha Yong-jung, and James (played by Jeon No-min) paid their respects, while the spirit of Jin-joo Kim, without feet, appeared outside. The spirit's bizarre gesture of sticking out her tongue at a monk who advised her to let go of her attachments added an eerie touch. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Shin Ju-shin had intentionally caused Jin-joo Kim's brain to die.

Later, Momo (with Geum Bara's brain) met Shin Ju-shin and decided not to reveal her true identity to Ha Yong-jung, saying, "I had a baby. A son." This revelation shocked Shin Ju-shin, who immediately recognized the child as Ha Yong-jung's son upon seeing the baby's photo.

At the same time, Jin-joo Kim's biological father, Kim Kwang-chul (played by Cha Kwang-soo), realized that Momo (with Geum Bara's brain) was no longer his daughter Jin-joo Kim and that Jin-joo Kim, who had swapped brains with Geum Bara, had completely disappeared. Understanding that Jin-joo Kim had proposed the brain swap to escape him, Geum Bara reflected, "Evil can never overcome good. Just as a single ray of light can illuminate darkness, darkness cannot overshadow light." Kim Kwang-chul then confronted Shin Ju-shin, who had erased Jin-joo Kim's brain and body from the world, and in a fit of rage, stabbed Shin Ju-shin, who died reminiscing about Geum Bara.

Meanwhile, Paul Kim (played by Ji Young-san) returned to Korea and discovered through a letter and DNA results that Geum Bara was his lost biological daughter. He was moved as he held Geum Bara's son, his grandson, raised by Momo (with Geum Bara's brain). Upon learning from Paul Kim that Geum Bara was his daughter and that she had a son, James immediately recognized the child as Ha Yong-jung's and informed him. Ha Yong-jung rushed to Momo (with Geum Bara's brain), held his son, and tearfully expressed his desire to raise the child, saying, "Better a father than an aunt."

Before filing for divorce, Ha Yong-jung and Momo (with Geum Bara's brain) visited the noodle restaurant where Ha Yong-jung and the pregnant Geum Bara had once dined. Momo (with Geum Bara's brain) recalled, "I really enjoyed the meal that day," revealing a truth only Geum Bara would know, leaving Ha Yong-jung in shock.

In the final moments of the broadcast, Ha Yong-jung, holding the hands of his son and daughter, entered the main house of Shin Ju-shin, which he had acquired. As Momo (with Geum Bara's brain) emerged and confessed her love to a retriever in the yard, the retriever transformed into Shin Ju-shin, hinting at a mysterious fate and leaving a lasting impression.
