Animal Sanctuary Couple Faces Financial Strain on 'Oh Eun-young Report: Marriage Hell'

Airing on October 4th at 10:20 PM, the 166th episode of 'Oh Eun-young Report: Marriage Hell' will feature the story of a couple divided between animal protection and family welfare.

Located in a remote area, the 'Protection Couple's home is shared with 100 dogs and 100 cats. The wife tirelessly cleans up after the animals and cares for them all day, even tending to 100 stray cats in the area, dedicating herself entirely to animal protection.

Once a professor, the wife has been running this shelter since 2014. As the number of animals increased, her husband closed his academy in 2019 to join her efforts.

The husband sought Dr. Oh Eun-young's help, stating that the shelter has reached its financial limits, but his wife refuses to acknowledge it. He reveals, "We are running a deficit of 6 million won every month. It's becoming impossible to sustain financially and physically." The unpaid veterinary bills alone amount to 35 million won, with operational costs like electricity bills being exorbitant. Despite obtaining a written promise from his wife not to increase the number of animals, she has not adhered to it.

The wife candidly admits, "I've sold assets worth about 1 billion won, including an apartment, luxury car, jewelry, designer watches, and paintings for the shelter. I even bankrupted my sister and spent millions of my husband's money. Yet, I honestly have no regrets," shocking everyone.

When her husband brings up financial concerns, the wife retorts, "It's not like I did anything wrong," treating the shelter's severe financial issues as if they were someone else's problem, further astonishing the hosts. MC Jang Dong-min remarks, "This is serious," unable to hide his shock.
