Netflix Remains Tight-Lipped on 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War Season 3' Amid Growing Speculation
According to an exclusive report by TenAsia on the 28th, Netflix has chosen not to comment on various reports regarding 'Black and White Chef 3'. When contacted by TenAsia, Netflix repeatedly stated that it is "difficult to confirm" details about changes in the main judges or the release timeline. This strategy of silence has only fueled more interest in the upcoming season.
Earlier, a media outlet reported that 'Black and White 3' would begin filming in May. In response, Netflix officially stated, "Due to the nature of survival variety shows, it is difficult to confirm details about the production." Although 'Black and White 3' was included in the 2026 production lineup announced at the 'Next on Netflix 2026 Korea' event in January, the release date remains unconfirmed.
Baek Jong-won, who had announced a hiatus in May 2025 due to various controversies, returned with 'Black and White 2' and was credited with stabilizing the show's success. Ahn Sung-jae recently faced criticism over a wine-switching controversy at his restaurant, 'Mosoo Seoul'. All eyes are on whether these two judges will continue their roles in 'Black and White 3'.
The production of 'Black and White 3' will once again involve Kim Eun-ji PD and writer Mo Eun-seol from Studio Slam, who were behind the previous series. There is anticipation about whether they will retain the successful cast or make changes to minimize risks.
'Black and White Chef' is a survival variety show where star chefs, known as 'White Spoons', compete against lesser-known but highly skilled 'Black Spoons'. Unlike previous seasons, which focused on individual competitions, 'Black and White 3' will feature battles between restaurants.
