'Yumi's Cells Season 3' Gains Global Popularity, Tops Streaming Charts

The TVING original series 'Yumi's Cells Season 3' is not only a hit in South Korea but is also gaining significant popularity overseas. The fourth episode, which aired on the 21st, recorded a viewership rating of 1.9%.

For two consecutive weeks, 'Yumi's Cells Season 3' has ranked first in weekly paid subscriber contributions. The series is receiving an overwhelming response globally. In its first week, episodes 1 and 2 topped the weekly rankings on Rakuten Viki in the US, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. It also secured the top spot on Mongolia's Inche TV and ranked third on Disney Plus in Japan.

In episodes 3 and 4, viewers saw Yumi (played by Kim Go-eun) struggling with her unrequited love for Sun-rok (played by Kim Jae-won), who remains distant, unlike the more forthcoming Ju-ho (played by Choi Daniel). However, when Da-yong (played by Jeon Seok-ho) comments that Yumi and Ju-ho make a good pair, Sun-rok's dismissive response, "I don't think they match well," piques interest in his true feelings. Furthermore, Sun-rok, who is usually a homebody, surprises Yumi and viewers by suggesting they watch a movie together, adding a flutter of excitement.

Amidst this, a photo has been released showing Yumi caught off guard between a fight between Sun-rok and Ju-ho, sparking curiosity. In the image, Yumi appears visibly shocked as she witnesses the disheveled state of the two men. Ju-ho's anger towards Sun-rok and Sun-rok's gaze at Ju-ho suggest a tense atmosphere between them. Da-yong's urgent expression as he tries to calm Ju-ho adds to the intrigue about what has transpired between Yumi, Sun-rok, and Ju-ho.

The production team teased, "In episodes 5 and 6, the principled Sun-rok finds his principles shaken after meeting Yumi. The changes in Sun-rok as he realizes his feelings, along with Yumi's honest approach to love, will bring excitement."

Episodes 5 and 6 of 'Yumi's Cells Season 3' will be exclusively pre-released on TVING at 6 PM on the 27th. Episode 5 will air on tvN at 8:50 PM on the same day.
