Gong Myung Shines in 'Secret Audit' as Ratings Soar

Actor Gong Myung delivers a stellar performance in 'Secret Audit'.

tvN's new weekend drama 'Secret Audit' has made a strong debut, topping the ratings for its time slot across cable and general programming channels. The second episode, aired on the 26th, continued this success with national household ratings averaging 6.3% and peaking at 7.1%, while metropolitan area ratings averaged 6.7% and peaked at 7.7%.

In the drama, Gong Myung plays the role of No Gi-jun, showcasing perfect chemistry with co-star Shin Hye-sun, bringing laughter to the audience. The episode revealed No Gi-jun's misfortunes as he is demoted to Audit Team 3, threatened by a whistleblower, and collapses, earning him the nickname 'fainting man' instead of the 'smiling angel' of the audit office.

The plot thickens as it is revealed that Park Ah-jung (played by Hong Hwa-yeon), who unexpectedly visits No Gi-jun's home, is his ex-girlfriend. Additionally, it is disclosed that Joo In-ah (played by Shin Hye-sun) witnessed their kiss on the emergency stairs, adding to the intrigue. To make matters worse, while staking out in the company’s underground parking lot, a spot known for office romances, No Gi-jun inadvertently catches Director Kim, his only chance to escape Audit Team 3, losing hope for his future.

In a moment of emotional release during a company dinner, No Gi-jun vents his frustrations at Joo In-ah, only to discover that Director Kim was already aware of his plans to transfer to another department, plunging him into deeper despair. Just as he decides to resign, he receives an email alleging that 'Manager Joo In-ah is involved in an inappropriate relationship within the company', turning the situation around.

Gong Myung skillfully portrays the transition from a confident and relaxed character to one increasingly cornered, eliciting laughter with his realistic performance. His nuanced expressions and detailed depiction of shifting emotions enhance the drama's engagement. As Gong Myung's solid acting continues to drive the rising ratings of 'Secret Audit', viewers are eager to see what he will bring next.
