Singer Seo In-young Opens Up About Suicide Attempts After Divorce

Singer Seo In-young has revealed that she attempted suicide following her divorce.

On the October 22nd episode of tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter 'You Quiz'), Seo In-young made a guest appearance.

During the show, Seo In-young shared, "After taking a long break, I don't know where to start with broadcasting. The swearing incident was my fault, so I believe I have to take responsibility for it."

Seo In-young, who took a hiatus following a controversy involving swearing at her manager, confessed, "I couldn't smile for a while. It was like I had aphasia, unable to speak, and I suffered from severe panic disorder and depression. After the swearing incident, my mother passed away three months later. I got married to escape, but that didn't work out either. It felt like being hit on the head with a frying pan all at once."

She continued, "At that time, I had many extreme thoughts. I thought dying was the only way to end it, but when I attempted an extreme choice, my mother saw it and was so shocked that she urinated. She passed away three months later."

Seo In-young further revealed, "I actually attempted once more after the divorce. My parents don't know about this. But a friend stopped me. After going through the divorce, I thought of myself as a failure."

Ultimately, Seo In-young lived with her younger sibling, saying, "I would often collapse, so my sibling always took care of me. My sibling developed anxiety disorder because of me and had to go to the hospital. I feel so sorry," she said tearfully.
