Ong Seong-wu to Star as Hotel CEO in tvN's Upcoming Drama 'Chilling Romance'

Ong Seong-wu, who completed his military service in October 2024, is set to transform into the perfect hotel CEO, Kang Min-hwan, in the drama 'Chilling Romance.' This marks his return to a leading role in a long-form drama after nearly three years.

Scheduled to premiere in the latter half of the year, tvN's new drama 'Chilling Romance' is an occult romance series about a chaebol heiress who can see ghosts and a passionate prosecutor who is terrified of them.

Based on the 2011 film 'Chilling Romance,' which was well-received, the drama stars Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong as the ghost-seeing heiress Cheon Yeol-ri and the fervent prosecutor Ma Kang-wook, respectively, promising a unique romantic synergy. Joining them is Ong Seong-wu, who will play the original character Kang Min-hwan, adding to the anticipation.

In the drama, Ong Seong-wu's character, Kang Min-hwan, is the CEO of CL Raymond Hotel, a subsidiary of the CL group. As the heir to the hotel and resort conglomerate CL, he possesses a sharp intellect, sexy appearance, eloquent speech, rational personality, manners, and innate abilities. While he appears to be a cold businessman on the outside, he is a warm friend to Cheon Yeol-ri (played by Park Eun-bin).

Ong Seong-wu's portrayal of Kang Min-hwan's contrasting traits is highly anticipated. Known for his wide acting range, from youthful romance to intense action, viewers are eager to see how he will bring the character of Kang Min-hwan to life.

The production team of 'Chilling Romance' stated, "Kang Min-hwan is an original character not seen in the film, and he will introduce a new tension between Cheon Yeol-ri and Ma Kang-wook. We hope viewers will watch with interest as Ong Seong-wu immerses himself in the role and fills Kang Min-hwan's narrative with his unique color."
