Go Yoon-jung Shares Experience Working with 14-Year Senior Koo Kyo-hwan in New Drama
On the 17th, a press conference for JTBC's new weekend drama 'Everyone is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness' (hereafter 'EFOW') was held at the Stanford Hotel in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Cha Young-hoon and actors Koo Kyo-hwan, Go Yoon-jung, Oh Jung-se, Kang Mal-geum, Park Hae-joon, and Han Sun-hwa.
'EFOW' follows the journey of a person driven mad by jealousy and envy among successful friends, as they seek peace. The drama is a collaboration between director Cha Young-hoon of 'When the Camellia Blooms' and writer Park Hae-young, known for 'My Mister' and 'My Liberation Notes'.
Koo Kyo-hwan plays Hwang Dong-man, an aspiring film director for 20 years. He shared, "When I first read the script, my immediate feeling was 'I really want to do this.' It was special to have the opportunity to meet such a character."
Go Yoon-jung takes on the role of Byun Eun-ah, a film company PD known in the industry as 'The Axe' for her sharp script reviews. Describing her character, Go said, "She has a symptom of nosebleeds whenever anxiety or fear manifests due to childhood trauma. As she accepts these symptoms, she meets Dong-man, who becomes a comforting presence, and they support and grow together."
Koo Kyo-hwan added, "I deliver a lot of lines, but Go Yoon-jung speaks with her eyes. Even though I had more dialogue, it felt like I was hearing a lot from her. She's an actor who knows how to create an atmosphere, and I benefited greatly from that."
The 12-episode series 'EFOW' premieres on the 18th at 10:40 PM.
