Comedian Kim Sook Reveals Her Sister is an OB-GYN: Insights from 'Problematic Men'
Comedian Kim Sook, 50, recently revealed that her older sister is an obstetrician-gynecologist.

On the October 16th episode of KBS2's variety show 'Problematic Men,' OB-GYN specialists Kim Ji-yeon and Choo Sung-il appeared as guests.

During the show, Choo Sung-il shared his reasons for choosing the OB-GYN specialty, stating, "It's surprisingly unpopular, but it's truly an amazing field. In medical dramas, you often see life-and-death situations, and OB-GYN is at the forefront of that. From birth certificates to death certificates for cancer patients, OB-GYN covers the entire spectrum of life. It used to be a sought-after field, but it's unfortunate that people now question why one would choose it."

Kim Ji-yeon added, "OB-GYN is the only field that deals with the full cycle of life. I wanted to be in a surgical field, and as a female doctor, OB-GYN was the perfect choice."

Kim Sook then revealed, "My sister is also an OB-GYN," adding, "She says if she could do it over, she'd choose plastic surgery. She regrets it a lot." Kim Sook continued, "She always has to be on standby for emergencies, and delivering babies requires a lot of physical strength."

Kim Ji-yeon empathized, saying, "Every specialty has emergencies, but OB-GYN is ultra-emergency. Sometimes you have to rush a baby to the operating room immediately. I've had to drop my food, run out while washing my hair, and even leave the bathroom abruptly."
