Shin Ha-kyun Returns with Dual Roles in MBC's New Drama 'Fifties Professionals'
Following the conclusion of '21st Century Grand Lady', MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Fifties Professionals' will premiere on May 22. On the 15th, the production team released the first still cuts of Shin Ha-kyun as Jeong Ho-myung, showcasing his contrasting atmospheres.
'Fifties Professionals' tells the story of three seemingly ordinary men who are drawn back into action by fate. Despite being worn down by life, these men, who have lived 50% of their lives, remain loyal and instinctive. The drama is a salty action comedy about these true professionals who were once at the top of their fields but are now relegated to the remote island of Yeongseondo after 'the incident of that day'. The story humorously unfolds as they seek the truth that has been on hold for 10 years.
Shin Ha-kyun plays Jeong Ho-myung, a chef at Oran Banjeom who has been waiting for 10 years. Once the top black agent of the National Intelligence Service, Jeong Ho-myung disguises himself and takes a job at Oran Banjeom on Yeongseondo to retrieve the 'item', the key to a failed secret operation. However, as he gets caught up in family and restaurant duties, a decade passes by.
The released stills show the stark contrast between the charismatic NIS black agent Jeong Ho-myung and the version of him serving with a tray in hand. Shin Ha-kyun's ability to seamlessly switch between these two personas, with just his expressions and gaze, highlights his seasoned acting skills, earning him the nickname 'Ha-kyun God'.
As an NIS agent, Jeong Ho-myung exudes charisma with his sharp gaze and impeccable appearance. In his disguised identity, he may seem lethargic, having lived 50% of his life, but his eyes remain sharp. Viewers are eager to see how his quest to find the missing 'item' unfolds and whether he can reclaim his past identity and status.
