Legal Drama Unfolds as Shocking Past is Revealed in 'Shin & Han Law Office'
The episode follows the duo as they take on their first joint case, representing Chae Jung-hee (played by Gil Hae-yeon), a vegetable shop owner, in a posthumous will execution case. Chae recalls her past when she co-founded 'Isang Shoes' with her husband Kang Dong-sik (played by Lee Deok-hwa) and Ryeo Sun-hwa, a defector from the North. Their peaceful life was shattered when Ryeo was accused of espionage for sending money to her family in the North.
Fearing the company's collapse, Kang Dong-sik couldn't prove Ryeo's innocence and left a will to pass part of his estate to Ryeo's son out of guilt. However, Kang's son, unable to accept this, hired lawyer Yang Do-kyung (played by Kim Kyung-nam) from the law firm Taebaek, sparking a legal battle.
Shin and Han work tirelessly to ensure the will is executed as intended, developing a subtle romantic tension that catches the eye of Kang's spirit, who humorously notes the change in their relationship.
According to Yang, Chae's overwhelming guilt over Ryeo's death in prison led her to forge the will to transfer assets to Ryeo's son. The unexpected revelation of past tragedies causes Kang's spirit to possess Shin Yi-rang, who suddenly declares in court, "I wrote it. The will was written by me," causing chaos. As Han Na-hyun requests a recess, Yoon Bong-soo splashes water on Shin to break the possession, heightening the drama's tension.
