K-Drama Queen Im Sung-han to Make Rare Live Appearance with YouTuber Um Eun-hyang
On October 7th, comedy YouTuber Um Eun-hyang announced via social media that Im Sung-han will be a guest on her first live broadcast celebrating her 1 million subscriber milestone. Um Eun-hyang, who currently has 630,000 subscribers, shared, "I received a call from writer Im Sung-han. Next week, we will have our first live broadcast to celebrate reaching 1 million subscribers. The guest will be Im Sung-han." She added, "This is not a prank, it's real. Fans, get ready to scream!"
Um Eun-hyang has been consistently uploading content related to Im Sung-han's dramas, including 'Im Sung-han Drama Clichés' and 'Comparing Writers' Universes'.
Im Sung-han, who debuted in 1990 with the KBS drama special 'Standing in the Maze', has maintained a mysterious persona by avoiding public appearances and interviews. Her notable works include 'Mermaid Lady', 'Princess Aurora', and 'Heaven's Fate'. After announcing her retirement in 2015 following 'Apgujeong Midnight Sun', she returned under the pseudonym 'Phoebe' with the 2021 TV Chosun drama 'Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)'.
Known for her dramatic and unconventional storylines, Im Sung-han has earned the title 'Queen of Makjang'. Her current project, TV Chosun's 'Dr. Shin', explores the theme of brain change. The medical thriller follows a genius doctor challenging the realm of the divine and a woman losing her soul after a sudden brain injury. It also features a bizarre romance involving a top star in a coma and the men who love her.
Despite its intriguing premise, 'Dr. Shin' has struggled with ratings, starting at 1% for its premiere and dropping to a low of 0.9% by episode 5. The most recent episode, episode 8, recorded a 1.2% rating, failing to break out of the 1% range. As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see what stories Im Sung-han will share during her live session with Um Eun-hyang.
