TV CHOSUN's 'Dr. Shin' Struggles with Ratings, Promises Unpredictable Twists Ahead

TV CHOSUN's medical thriller 'Dr. Shin' continues to struggle with ratings, maintaining a 1% viewership for four consecutive weeks. The latest episode, aired on the 5th, recorded a 1.2% rating. As the show gears up for episodes 9 and 10, the production team has revealed key points to watch for in the upcoming second act.

The drama follows the story of a genius doctor, Shin Joo-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan), who performs a brain change surgery on his fiancée, top actress Momo (played by Baek Seo-ra), after she falls into a coma. Initially, Shin Joo-shin succeeds in the surgery at the request of Momo's mother, Hyun Ran-hee (played by Song Ji-in), but faces conflicts with Momo, who now possesses Hyun Ran-hee's brain. This leads to a second brain change surgery with Kim Jin-joo (played by Chun Young-min).

However, complications arise when Momo (with Kim Jin-joo's brain) casually informs Shin Joo-shin of a miscarriage, which she had not previously disclosed to him. This revelation, coupled with her insistence on swimming lessons against his wishes, leads to a heated confrontation. Meanwhile, Shin Joo-shin finds himself increasingly drawn to Geum Bara (played by Joo Se-bin), despite her rejection of his proposal for a third brain change surgery. The question remains whether Shin Joo-shin will attempt another surgery and if Geum Bara will be the next candidate.

Geum Bara, who has harbored feelings for Ha Yong-jung (played by Ahn Woo-yeon) since their time in an orphanage, struggles with her unrequited love as Ha Yong-jung expresses his affection for Momo. In a surprising turn of events, the last episode ended with Ha Yong-jung confessing his newfound feelings for Geum Bara, hinting at a potential mutual romance.

The production team teases that the latter half of 'Dr. Shin' will feature unpredictable twists that could upend the established narrative, promising an addictive and shocking storyline typical of writer Im Sung-han. Viewers are encouraged to stay tuned for the thrilling developments.
