In November 2007, in the vast reed fields of Woomdo, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, a suspicious shape was discovered amidst ongoing highway construction. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed to be a human skeleton. The construction worker who found it was shocked and immediately reported it to the police, prompting an investigation.

Analysis of the scattered clothes, hair, and bone structure around the skeleton suggested that the deceased was a woman in her 20s. The 'Smoking Gun' delves deeply into why this woman was found in such a tragic state in the secluded reed forest.

The mysterious skeleton had no fingerprints or dental work to identify the deceased. However, during the autopsy, an unexpected trace was found: a tiny cut mark on the facial bone. This became a crucial smoking gun that eventually led to identifying the victim. Ahn Hyun-mo expressed her amazement, saying, "The case of the skeleton with no clues was solved with just one cut mark on the face."

Lee Ji-hye commented, "The process of identifying the victim and finding the perpetrator among the acquaintances, leading to a confession, is like a movie. The investigation team's relentless pursuit led to a miraculous arrest."
Meanwhile, the broadcast featured former Hwaseong Western Police Station detective Hong Seung-man, who overcame numerous obstacles to capture the perpetrator, sharing detailed accounts of the situation.
