Shin Dong-yup Opens Up About Reunion with Ex-Girlfriend Lee So-ra on 'Aneun Geunde Jinjja!'
On the episode aired on the 6th, Shin Dong-yup made a guest appearance on the show. Upon his arrival, Lee Sang-min exclaimed, "The real deal has appeared," while Kai jokingly remarked, "He seems like someone who's been here for a long time." Tak Jae-hoon humorously referenced Shin's past, saying, "Back then, it was blue, right? Didn't you bring the stripes?"
Making his first appearance on a terrestrial talk show in 15 years, Shin Dong-yup explained his choice to appear on 'Aneun Geunde', saying, "It's about time the ratings go up." Tak Jae-hoon added humor by claiming, "Shin's condition for appearing was to sit indoors. Since only his upper body is shown, we should pay him half."
Shin Dong-yup also revealed behind-the-scenes details about his reunion broadcast with his ex-girlfriend, Lee So-ra. He said, "It was the first time seeing her in 25 years since we broke up. Some might find it uncomfortable, but it's not an embarrassing past. I'm not advocating for it."
He continued, "It was a part of my life before meeting my current wife, a chapter in my life. There's no need to tear that page out. I've moved on to the next chapter."
Sun Hye-yoon PD even mentioned to their children while watching TV, "That's the girlfriend your dad dated before." Shin Dong-yup remained unfazed, saying, "The kids will find out everything on the internet as they grow up."
Reflecting on his past struggles with a 10 billion won debt, Shin Dong-yup recalled, "At that time, the 'Oppa Band' PD was my wife. I was out of my mind. During breaks in filming, I would find hundreds of missed calls on my phone. I thought, 'Do I have to pay for this too?'"
During their early married life, Shin Dong-yup didn't share a room with his wife during out-of-town shoots, saying, "I had filming the next day, and if we talked about family, it would be morning. We were newlyweds, but I was 100% late," humorously referring to his wife as 'that person'.
