Chef Kim Hoon Opens Up About His Journey and Challenges on 'Ask Anything'
On the 358th episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything', airing at 8 PM on the 30th, Chef Kim Hoon, known as the 'Trend King' from 'Black and White Chef' Season 2, makes an appearance.
Currently, he operates three restaurants in Yongsan, including an American home-style diner, a croissant bakery, and a traditional Korean barbecue place, all of which have become hotspots on 'Yongridan-gil'. Chef Kim Hoon reveals that he initially thought the nickname 'Trend King' was a good fit during the filming of 'Black and White Chef', but now worries it makes him seem like someone who only follows trends, prompting him to seek advice from the hosts.
After returning to Korea, he attempted the CPA exam but failed, leading him to Australia on a working holiday where he began learning to cook professionally. Over approximately six years, he honed his skills abroad, even working at a Michelin 3-star fine dining restaurant in the U.S.
