Chef Kim Hoon, who appeared in Netflix's 'Black and White Chef' Season 2, shares his concerns.

On the 358th episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything', airing at 8 PM on the 30th, Chef Kim Hoon, known as the 'Trend King' from 'Black and White Chef' Season 2, makes an appearance.

Currently, he operates three restaurants in Yongsan, including an American home-style diner, a croissant bakery, and a traditional Korean barbecue place, all of which have become hotspots on 'Yongridan-gil'. Chef Kim Hoon reveals that he initially thought the nickname 'Trend King' was a good fit during the filming of 'Black and White Chef', but now worries it makes him seem like someone who only follows trends, prompting him to seek advice from the hosts.

He studied economics in college and, after military service, exchanged cultures by cooking Korean dishes during a backpacking trip in exchange for accommodation. He believed that gaining diverse experiences abroad as a chef would enable him to open his desired restaurant.

After returning to Korea, he attempted the CPA exam but failed, leading him to Australia on a working holiday where he began learning to cook professionally. Over approximately six years, he honed his skills abroad, even working at a Michelin 3-star fine dining restaurant in the U.S.

Upon returning to Korea, he received investment to run a restaurant for four years and has since established himself as an owner-chef. After hearing his story, Seo Jang-hoon advises, "The name 'Trend King' will pass, but what's important is how long the name 'Chef Kim Hoon' lasts. Use diverse feedback as an opportunity for growth."

Meanwhile, during the broadcast, Chef Kim Hoon prepares lasagna for the hosts, catching their attention. Seo Jang-hoon praises the dish, saying, "I understand why it's popular. It perfectly suits young people's tastes and is a flavor Koreans would love. The balance of flavors from the meat to the various sauces is excellent." Lee Soo-geun also expresses admiration for his culinary skills.
